Middleton: central air replacement after repeated refrigerant leaks
In July, the central air in this Middleton home stopped cooling. The system was only about five years old, but it kept leaking refrigerant and had been recharged more than once without the leak ever being fixed.
Instead of another recharge, the cooling side of the system was replaced. The gas furnace was staying, so our crew removed it, installed a new Ruud cased evaporator coil in place of the old one, reinstalled the furnace and reconnected everything to the home's existing ductwork. Outside, they set a new Ruud 13 SEER single-stage air conditioner and wired it to a new electrical disconnect on the wall beside it.
It was a one-day job. The furnace was photographed late in the morning, before the coil work began, and the new outdoor unit was set and finished by evening.
