Tank-style and tankless water heaters share the same basic job: pull in cold water, heat it, and deliver it on demand. When that process breaks down, the failure usually traces back to a handful of components—the thermostat, heating element, anode rod, pressure relief valve, or the tank itself.
Under 8 years with a minor fix, repair usually makes sense. Past 10 years, or with a leaking tank, replacement is the better value.
Both have a place. Tankless saves space and never runs out; a quality tank costs less up front. We size and quote both so you can choose.
