“Super nice guy but didn't have any tools to finish installing my facet.”

“I wish I could give a good review but I want to be honest if for nothing else but a learning opportunity. I started out with this company on a Saturday, I called and asked if they had availability that day as I had a leak that had caused damage to my cabinets. I was originally told yes they could come between 12-3 then it was between 5-7 and then received a call back several hours later stating they'd tried to get me in but weren't sure if they'd be able to. I spoke with my husband we decided to shut the water off to this sink and wait until Monday for the appointment because we didn't want to wait around all afternoon/evening if they weren't going to be able to make it. Monday rolls around and the gentleman and I arrived at my house at the same time, he pulls up in front of me and completely blocks my driveway (plenty of parking not blocking my driveway) and I had to literally drive over a portion of my grass to park in my driveway. The technician was nice and courteous but very young and seemingly inexperienced or under experienced for the job. I explain to him what the issue was and he tells me he's not worked on my type of faucet and isn't sure what the issue is before eventually arriving at what felt like a complete guess based off of what I told him I thought was wrong. I asked several questions all of which were basically answered with "I'm not too sure". He then quotes me $1800 for a kitchen faucet and installation - highway robbery. He then tries to upsel me on an electric saltless water softener system, ok he probably needs to upsell I get it. I asked that he just email the quotes and let him know I'd discuss with my husband to which he asks if there's a way he could reach him to speak with him about it, as if I am incapable of understanding, explaining or decision making with my husband without his intervention. I will reiterate this young man was polite but his tactics were extremely off-putting. To top off the less than positive experience, he asks me to pull out my phone, go on Google, type in American Rooter & Drain and leave a positive review. He stood about a foot away from me and watched my screen as I obliged. So unprofessional. A satisfied customer will leave a good review because you left them with an experience they'd like to share with others not because they felt pressured to do so while you're standing over them watching what they enter. Overall I'd say the woman that answered the phone and the technician are friendly enough but that's about where the positive experience ends and the less than professional behavior, extremely over priced estimates and pressure tactics come in and I'd rather not deal with that type of business.”

“Super nice guy! But he didn’t want to snake my drain. He kept insisting that I need to pay $700 to water jet snake the line out. Turned out there was a Clorox wipe stuck in the line and that’s why it was backed up. I figured let’s try the simplest cheapest approach and then if that doesn’t work let’s do whatever needs to be done after that. It took about 20 minutes to convince him that is how I wanted it handled. Super glad he finally listened to me.”

“I was going to leave a 5 star review. What prevented me was realizing the toilet wasn't reset properly after the service plumbers left. The customer service is great and they did come out on a Sunday. But, after spending $1,400 to see why the drain/sewer drain was clogged I would've expected the toilet to have been reset and re-caulked. We were also quoted $18k for replacing 100ft. We were quoted by another plumbing service for $6k with almost the same process. McCrea is expensive and they have good customer service and do a good job. With us it seemed like they left the toilet thinking we were going to say yes to the $18k sewer line. And we found out our home insurance does cover the sewer line but seeing them score the toilet and move it and then not reset it properly is a detail that we feel was missed and would be missed on the main drain.”

“Repair man was very knowledgeable and resolved the issue. BUT I DISLIKED His high pressure SALES tactics! I do not like when they try to sell you un needed parts upgrades and services plans. I WILL NOT use them again.”

“I didn't have a good experience with this company. First, they sent two men to do what was quite obviously a one-man job. They were on the site for 10 minutes when they said they had to go get parts. They were then gone for over an hour. They came back, and after 10 minutes said they had to get the right parts. They left and we're gone again for another hour. At this point I was starting to get a little concerned. Finally three hours after they showed up to fix the leak, they finished the job. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.”

“They showed up when they said they would however, 1 waterline was broke under my mobilehome and it was $242. I feel like it should not have been so much since it did not take them long to fix it.”

“Nice guys came decent service I guess, but $105 for a half hr of work is ridiculous”

“Called for repair on a Whirlpool Accubake Range. Dave's Appliance repair sent 2 repairmen out on the same day called. All was well until l asked for an estimate to replace the diagnosed thermostat problem. Cody quoted me $683.00 to fix a 5 year old range that l can purchase brand new $799.00 at Lowe's. He insisted the fix couldn't be guaranteed unless they replace the control panel too. Calling Dave's Appliance Repair was a total waste of my time and the $83.00 charged to diagnose. When someone needs a repair they don't want to be upsold or given any doubt about throwing good money after bad. They want a reasonable, competitive estimate to fix the problem. You won't get that from Dave's. l give them two stars only because they responded on the same day l called. They probably don't deserve the two. l hope this review saves others from this company.”

“My A/C unit stopped blowing cold air. I called Dave’s as most of the Google reviews seemed positive. Well, the few dissatisfied reviews were correct in my experience and very similar. UPSELL and OVER PRICED are the two words that best describe this company. Here’s my experience. The technician was courteous and somewhat knowledgeable. However, it was not enough to be what sticks in my mind. It was obvious after a few short minutes of trouble shooting, which indicated only “potential” problems in the future, that the technician’s main goal (personal or directed by the company) is to UPSELL based on presumptuous information, not facts, as to why my A/C unit kicked the breaker and duration of life remaining. His reasons were solely based on presumption of the existing installation and unit and the current status of the company that installed it. Their prices are EXTREMELY high. So to justify the tech said things like, "the "probably" did such and such wrong when they installed but WE do this and this which is better, and I think they went out of business as a result" Lastly, he lied or didn't take the time to correctly identify the size of my existing unit when I asked him. I know all of this because I sent him on his way with just the $88 service fee, which for what he did (took a couple electrical readings and a Freon test that took all of about 20 minutes) was ridiculous. But he took a good 30 minutes to try and upsell me an entire new unit. I sent him on his way( at 7:30 pm) with an "I'll give you a call if I decide to buy". Then I went in and watched a few Youtube videos on A/C trouble shooting. Based on HIS numbers, my unit is fine. I also thought I'd give a call to the company that installed the original unit to see if in fact they were out of business. NOPE! They answered the phone at 10:30 pm, gave me to the point valid advice answered all my questions and for FREE! I will NEVER use Dave's Appliance Repair again.”

“My husband made the mistake of using Dave's Appliance for a kitchen appliance repair. The service technician was unable to diagnose the problem during his visit, and we decided not to have him do any further work as we were concerned about his qualifications. We were charged $88 for the service call (the invoice clearly states appliance service calls are $68), and we will never use them again.”

“I called these guys on a Tuesday late afternoon. They said they couldn't make it out that day and I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday from 1-3. They said they didn't have anything that day at that time. I work nights and usually sleep until 2 or 3, so I set my alarm for 1. At 1:05, they called me and said the guy was on his way. By 2:35, I called them and asked where he was at. They said he "got lost" and he would be there in 15 minutes. By 3:05, I called them back and told them they obviously do not want my money and I will willingly oblige to that. Will never call them again and will tell everyone to call someone else.”
