“My elderly mother's kitchen drain completely plugged up. After trying to snake it out myself I started searching plumbers online. Called them by mistake when trying to contact another plumbing company. The gal that answered the phone told me about a flat $59.99 drain cleaning fee. I explained that it is a single line and it will need jetted. She told me that as long as it is a single line the $59.99 will include jetting if needed. When the plumber arrived, he tried to snake it out and when that didn't work gave us a bid of $950 to jet it out. This is unacceptable and wrong to do to an elderly person on a fixed income! Stay away from American Rooter and drain. Update: Although they said they would reach out to me, they never did.”

“consumer beware!!! Avoid this company at all costs! They are preying on desperate and vulnerable people and gouging the prices, botch the job, there are videos doing SEVERAL illegal acts during their work, had to hire someone else to come out and fix what they messed up, no permit, no inspection of work, then try to say the house will cost too much to fix and offer to buy it, AFTER THEY BOTCHED THE JOB!!! They are doing this to SEVERAL people in the Nyssa area. Complaints with the city have been filed as well as BBB. Save yourself the stress, expense and nightmares!!!”

“American Rooter and drain charge $59 to come out and give an estimate. Understandable I am 40 minutes away and Travis needs paid for coming out. BTW I really liked Travis he certainly deserves a 5 star review and the bonus they recieve for 5 stars. I am sorry Travis. That being said their my estimate was $1800. They want half up front $900. No financing offered. Ok I can do that I had to transfer money from my IRA and put it on my debit card. When I called to pay I was informed they would be charging me 3.5% interest on all card purchases. I could mail it or bring it in over an hour on the road. I noped out. I didn't want to pay 3.5% interest for using a debit card. I feel I should be refunded my 59$. It was not my fault they said nothing about 3.5% interest. I should have been informed up front before the technician came out. I could have noped out then. I got my filter installed and am happy with the service I received from Right Now. Financing offered. No charge for an estimate even 40 minutes away. They do send a sales person for your estimate.”

“If I could give -100 stars I would!!! Main sewer line plugged out of nowhere. Called Meridian Plumbing, they couldn’t come out same day, referred us to American Rooter & Drain, who came out within hours. Travis hooked up the hydro flush (with basically a garden hose to my 4” sewer pipe). He brought out handful of roots & possible kitchen grease. He got it flowing & said his Supv would be coming tomorrow with camera & to check his work. The bill was over $1300. He did about 45 min of work. That night I looked up your company reviews & to my horror saw the reputation of your company. I had already paid hundreds for the camera inspection & figured might as well do it. Also my house is almost 100 yrs old & that info could be very interesting. I knew I would not give you another cent of our money or do business with you. Camera guy comes out & says main line full of roots. You need 80 ft augured out, not hydro jetted & liner installed to prevent future growth. That will cost $18k. No offer to re-hydro jet at all. Ummm, OK. Maybe, but definitely don’t trust your company and already called 2 other very reputable companies for 2nd opinions. 2nd company comes out & said, “They supposedly hydro jetted this?” We showed him the picture in process we took & he said you were using a garden hose set up to a 4” sewer pipe. Incorrect. Also, is it alleged you didn’t even turn the pressure on, only the motor. This put in clear perspective your dubious business practices to prey on homeowners in dire situations. You cleared just enough to get our pipe flowing. In 1-2 weeks our sewer would have clogged again & potentially flooded our basement & house with sewer. Was the hopes that we would be so desperate we would happily pay $18k or potentially $30k (that you usually quote people). Not these people Sirs!!! Our pipes were cleared with hydro jet correctly & completely for $650. No auger of roots needed or liner. Maintenance hydro suggested every year & using Rootex. Had you done the job correctly & without premeditation to rob us of future monies, you would have had a customer for years. Instead, other reputable companies have come behind you & clean up your lack of efficiency. Your company should be ashamed using “Veteran Owned” & conducting itself with predatory business practices! No Veteran would prey on people (especially the elderly) in desperate need or being uneducated about plumbing services. We highly doubt you are “Veteran Owned” or if you are a Veteran, I am sure you were dishonorable discharged. Either way how do you & your employees sleep at night knowing what you’re doing to people? High sales & robbing people of hard earned money is all you care out. That is sickening! We will be putting this review of our service experience on every social media platform that we can find warning people to stay FAR AWAY from your company & filing a complaint with the BBB. I am sure most of the positive reviews (there are very few) listed are fake.”

“I had America Router come out to give me a bid to finish up a kitchenette in my barn. I had received a quote about 18 months ago to do the whole thing for $3,000. I didn't want to pay that much so I completed 2/3s of it on my own. I decided that I didn't have time to finish things up and I asked American Router to give me a quote. I knew that prices had gone up a little in the last 18 months but since I had already done 2/3s of it I figured it would offset the price difference. The guys took 2.5 hours to look at my tiny kitchenette area - Then they had to call another guy to come and look at it. Finally they gave me a price of $8,000. I literally laughed out loud. I got ahold of Executive Plumbing a little while later and he quoted me $1,500, and completed the job for closer to $1,400. If you are going to use American Router please get a second opinion. Odds are American Router is way overpriced!”

“I had a slow draining kitchen sink. Travis came out and quoted me $1700 to fix it, then eventually worked his way down to $900, telling me he was offering me a "special price", "I shouldn't be doing this", that whole game. Ugh. I then called another company and they sent someone out the next day and fixed it for about $300. I'm a little miffed about paying American the $59 service fee for coming out there to assess it only to have them quote me an absurd and unrealistic price . But it was $59 well-wasted to avoid getting fully bamboozled by them.”

“We had a sewer backup they were the only ones that could get here fairly soon. They did get it unplugged by using the hydro jetting which was also suppose to clean out tree roots. The man who did the work suggested that his supervisor come the next day and run a camera thru the line and it was our understanding that that would be included in the $749.75 that we were charged. The supervisor did show up the next dayand the camera showed that the roots were still very much there (if indeed it was actually our line). He tried pressuring my husband into paying $5000 to clear/ fix the line which my husband declined. A couple of days later we received a bill for the camera for over $300 more. Have since heard from several other people that have had similar issues. Not sure anyone will actually see this but had to get off my chest. CUSTOMER BEWARE.”

“Unfortunately they were the only plumber available the day I called to diagnose sump pump repair and plugged sewer line. Charged $1500 to put a camera up line and tell me line was blown out and that whole line needed to be repaired and that sewage ejector was bad and also needed to be replaced. Quote was 8k to repair. Glad I listened to my gut and got second opinion. Ejector was fine just need a valve adjusted and the line was not blown out it was also fine. Total cost was $250 to do what they couldn’t. Before you fall to their pressure sales tactics get a second opinion. While onsite they went to all my neighbors houses trying to sell them services they didn’t need. The plumber that actually fixed my issue guessed American Rooter and Drain by name because they are always cleaning up their messes.”

“This was the worse experience we have ever had with a vendor. What started as a simple clogged drain clearing which we assumed would be a fee of couple $100 then turned into a $1300 pipe clearing job which we agreed to. When hydro clearing failed at the sink the tech went on the roof to try a different pipe. This is where it went south. A guyser blew upward out of sink and P trap blew out and flooded our kitchen and floor space. The tech was polite and professional, but then wanted to charge $3800 to replace our pipes. I declined, and asked to tech to collect items and depart. I was charged $850 ish with a job not completed. The clog was still in effect, and now I had a mess under house and in kitchen. I went to Lowes bought pipe, cement, and a cutter for less than $75 bucks. Cut the clog out and replaced pipe. I tried to get recompensed half the 800+, and the manager refused to meet me half way. I expected to pay for the techs 2 hours of labor, but the Manager felt the discount from $1300 to $850 was sufficient. Im retired Army, and this is a Veteran owned company. You would think they would make things right regardless. Very disgruntled. The billboard on I84 says the $59 dollar clog clear....the advertising is bogus. Be aware!”

“The people were nice. The price was ridiculously high over $25,000 for something that another company charged a little bit over $3,000. Big difference and now I'm stuck with over $25,000. That's impossible to pay with a set income. I'm paying $300 a month which is only the interest. This is cutting me short on other expenses. I Felt like I've been taken advantage of because of my age. Lesson learned get another opinion. They wanted me to refinance my house to continue to finish the work. My house has been paid off a long time ago. Crazy!”

“The young men were rude I was in the middle of a doctors visit on video and they would not stop talking to me and kept on trying to make me sign paperwork they quoted me 17,000 to do a job found somebody else that did it for seven I do not recommend them”
