“Super not impressed with the flyer this company requested to be sent out as a mass mailer. I find this negative rhetoric distasteful and presumedly representative of the company values. Most people don't call a PLUMBER to talk politics. Honestly.. What were they thinking?!”

“Late to their first appointment. Couldn't fix a simple faucet drip and had to come back a different day. Didn't show up today so I called and I was told he was on his way. 2 hours later still not here and was told again that he was " on his way". Asked if I wanted to reschedule to another day. No, thank you. I will find someone who values my time and doesn't give me the run around.”

“They charge too much. $500 for 2 hours. That's ridiculous! I will never call them again.”

“The employees are very professional and nice. The company as a whole wasn't a good experience and the communication is terrible. The repair was very expensive. Things that were promised to get done never were.”

“Kid who replaced my dispoal didn't even install it right. I had to fix it myself for the leak it was causing. Im actually quite sure he had no idea what he was doing. These guys are very good at wanting money for service that my 10 year old daughter could do. Horrible company!”

“Our family was unfortunate to have an issue with our toilet in our basement. Our whole basement was flooded with water. I called McCrea Heating & Plumbing for their services around 4:30-5pm. Since our call was unforeseen they didn't have us on their schedule. That was understandable. They said they'd add us to their schedule for that same day. After waiting a few hours and containing the water leak, we realized they weren't going to arrive. We received a call later that day saying, "We had been added to the schedule but they had "missed" us. Apparently they didn't see we had been added. He said it was too late at this point to come to our house but they would get to us first thing next morning at 8am. Well, turns out they called us today at 7:22 saying an "emergency" came up elsewhere that they had to go fix. They were wouldn't be able to get to us at this point. This issue is considered an emergency to my family and I don't understand why they considered our necessity less important. I have contacted another plumbing company since then.”

“Had to return to edit my review. My first experience with McCrea was great, original review: "Nice people, fast service and flexible!" Since then it's been nothing but a cluster. Our house was built in 1920 and not well taken care of by rental tenants by the time we bought it three years ago. Our basement began flooding in October, and we called McCrea expecting another good experience. We found out an old tree had been cut down on the property long before we were even thinking of college let alone houses, and the root system had torn through the pipes and destroyed the system. That sucks, sure. We were quoted around $3k for everything, a price that definitely had us freezing a bit as first time home owners. But, it was a reasonable price. Things started getting done, suddenly there were four or five different guys running around and no one was communicating with each other. We got tricked into signing a loan for SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS with the promise that the new system installed would be guaranteed for the next TWELVE YEARS at MINIMUM. Immediately after the system was installed, the basement flooded and destroyed one of our bathrooms and the ceiling of the downstairs office. This happened because they thought they were blocking off a hole when installing the new system but it was actually another pipe that connected one side of our house to the other side. It is not our doing that our house was plumbed this way, though they sure tried to make it out to be! We had to fight to get it all replaced and repaired without further cost to us, and for TWO WEEKS our roommate didn't have a bathroom to use--during Thanksgiving even! Her toilet was in her tub and her sink was in the living room, and she had no water! Now it's only been two months since the last flood, we're still not done putting the office back together--for whatever reason, their guys literally broke apart one of my bookshelves in the process and it can't be put together. Thanks??--and we are having issues again. They are giving us quotes and estimates and when we said no and reminded them of their promise, they started offering us discounts instead and saying their promise wasn't part of the contract itself--apparently it was just verbal bait to win their bid. Oh, and the guys that were running all around the first time? Two months later and none of them work there anymore... hm, I wonder why? The receptionist sounded worried when their names were mentioned. After doing just the simplest research work we should've done about how much it costs to install a new system, I'm finding the costs to be less than 10k for a house like ours, and not even approaching 17k until you start looking at re-piping the entire house itself. I feel duped and ripped off. Why am I paying $17k for a "new" system that can't even make it two months without issue? To quote David "You can flush a hot wheels down your toilet and we'll fix it no cost!" Thanks a lot.”

“My furnace won't shut off when it is supposed to. A technician came by on a Tuesday and after looking at my furnace he tells me it will take a couple of days to get the neccessary part to fix it. After 6 days i called the office and a lady on the phone told me that the technician that came to my house is out sick. I asked her to get back to me about when anyone could work on my furnace. She promised me that she would call me the next day. It's been 3 days since that phine call. Punctuality, professionalism, responsiveness, quality... all are in serious need of improvement.”

“Overpriced and terrible. Didn't fix the problem, then tried to charge us again to do what they should of done the first time. In any other business, this would be called a "scam".”

“Technician was kind but obviously reading from a script. He bid us $850 and another week wait for a shower valve issue. Husband fixed it in 45 min with $17.88 and YouTube. We’d have paid a reasonable price. Didn’t feel nice.”

“Be sure to check around for other quotes, since Mike McCrea sold the business they have doubled there service prices.”

“McCrea heating sent a technician to my house in Ontario after I called them about my heater not working. Technician found a burnt 5 amp fuse and went ahead and replaced other unnecessary parts at a cost of $489.00. Then he said that I needed to replace the compressor and for the same cost I should replace the heat pump and install a matching air handler with en estimated total cost of over $6,500.00 I told him that I needed to get a second opinion. The new technician spent about an hour and located a low voltage wire that the insulation was robbed off and was going to ground and was causing the low amp fuse to burn out. He checked my system and found it to be in a very good operating condition. The cost was $150.00 and no need to replace any part of the system. I found the McCrea technician to be dishonest.”
